One teacher blog I found interesting was http://ushistoryeducatorblog.blogspot.com/.
I found this blog to be very interesting because it teaches the topic I want to teach, history, in a fun way. There were many videos that not only explained the topic but also taught it in a way students would pay attention. The videos had jokes, colorful pictures, and wasn't monotone which many history videos are. It was an interesting way to inform the students. You can tell the teacher wants to teach students as well as keep them entertained. I also liked this blog because their were links to many helpful things to the class such as; notes, PowerPoint, videos, texts, outlines, and much more. This will help students if they were absent or just want a review. One final thing I liked about this blog was that he linked a twitter account for the class. There students can see updates about the class, reminder of due dates, funny history posts, and many more. This is a good way to keep in touch with students since most will have a twitter account.
Another teacher blog I found interesting was http://blog.teachingamericanhistory.org/.
I found this blog very interesting as well because it seems to try to teach students differently than the first blog but is still a great way for students to learn. The teacher post several articles about many topics that she covers in the class. This gives the students more information than just what's in the text. Also each article isn't very long so students won't be intimated by them. If an article is too long some students won't want to read them but these are the perfect length. She also has links to helpful things. She links her articles by the date she published them so you can see what all she posted in a certain month. There are also many libraries and museums she has linked to give addition information.
One final teacher blog I found interesting was http://multimedialearningllc.wordpress.com/.
I found this blog interesting for many of the same reasons I found the first blog so interesting. There are many important videos on this blog. However, they seem to be a mix of interesting and boring videos. Students tend to like the interesting videos more but sometimes those aren't the most effective or educational so it has a good balance of the two. Like the first blog this one also has many helpful links. Again by dates, PowerPoint's, and notes. This blog also has links for important key terms and vocabulary and it will take you to what he posted that is most helpful when talking about that topic. One final thing I liked about this blog was that he posted links to educational games relating to history. This is a great way to keep the students entertained and help them review the subject while having fun.
I plan to use blogger as a future teacher as a way to keep in touch with my students. It will be like blackboard but for my middle students. They will be able to check my blog and be able see what we went over in class in case they were absent or in case they just forget or lose something.

Welcome to my blog
Hello there. My name is Michael Hall. I'm am currently studying at Columbus State Community College to receive my Associates of Arts then transfer to Bowling Green State University to receive and education degree in order to teach middle school history. When I'm not at school I'm either working. I work at Darby Glenn Nursing Home as a housekeeper. I have worked there for almost a year now. When I have time off from both school and work I hangout with my friends which normally involve sports such as; baseball, football, ultimate frisbee, and much more. Baseball is my favorite sport. If I am also able to coach the baseball team at the school I work at that would be amazing.
I have many goals as an educator. My first goal simply is to educate. Growing up I loved history and I want to share my love of history with others. History is also a very important subject in school and I want to help students as much as I can. My second goal of mine is to make learning fun. My seventh grade history teacher made the class so much fun that I couldn't wait to get to his class and learn. This is what I want to be like with my students. I will make sure they understand the topic and have fun doing so. If you have fun while learning it is easier to actually learn. My third goal I have is to help all my students, not only in my class but in the real world. Of course I will focus on the topics I need to teach them but I also want to be able to help students with their problems, in and out of school. Many students nowadays, especially in middle school, go through hard times and I want to be their to help them. My forth goal is to make sure my students succeed, in my class and all their other classes. I will do whatever it take to see my students succeed. My teaching style will have to adapt to how they learn. The student comes first in my classroom. I have so many goals but one final goal is to be a good role model for the students. Through my actions I will promote a positive image that the students will hopefully follow. My goals for teaching are endless but these are the five that are most important to me.
